1. WHAT DO YOU DO?
I blend a range of techniques and approaches depending on what I think will be most helpful to the situation. The psychotherapy helps us to identify what has been happening and to design a way forwards. The brain health coaching is important as it looks at what may be happening from a physical perspective.
NLP helps to change our perceptions and model new ways of being. Art therapy may be used as a way to help work through emotions. The hypnotherapy brings it all together and works at helping you to make changes in a deeper level.
It is a lovely blend of working with the logical and creative sides of the mind. The sessions are not planned and hypnosis sessions are not pre scripted.
2. WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION AND WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE? HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL IT TAKE?
After our initial phone call, we have the session and talk in more detail about your what has been getting in the way. Together we map out a preferred way of thinking. Once you are comfortable with what we will have in the hypnosis recording I record directly into your phone so you can reinforce the changes at home.
People often describe feeling very relaxed during the hypnosis. Everyone has a different experience. The amount of sessions really varies. Some people it is one session and others a few more. It is a brief solution focused approach.
3. IS IT SAFE? IS IT MIND CONTROL?
It is very safe and natural. We often go into a light state of trance without realising throughout the day. For example when we are watching tv. Trance is really being in a relaxed focused state of mind. It is not mind control. It is different from a stage hypnosis show. You are in control, it's your mind.
4. WHAT MAY IT HELP WITH?
Clients have found it helpful for so many reasons. The main one is due to anxiety. Other reasons are for weight reduction, addictive behaviours like eating too much sugar, alcohol issues, insomnia. Different types of fears and phobias, such as spiders, driving, flying, lifts, public speaking. Some people have imposter syndrome at work or have been lacking confidence. I see many children and young adults who have anxiety are feeling pressure with exams, issues with gaming and social media.
5. DO YOU WORK WITH CHILDREN?
Yes, from the age of ten. I have a working with children check. Children often respond really well to the sessions as they can be light hearted and sometimes we incorporate art as a way to help them communicate more easily.
6. CAN I USE MY HEALTH FUND? WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION AND COVID POLICY?
The health funds that do give rebates for hypnotherapy changes often, so please ask when we speak.
Please give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel so I can offer the time to someone else and to not incur a fee. Please ensure that you have tested negative to Covid prior to your session, if you have felt unwell recently.
